Richstitch

Please note that I am always happy to adapt a talk to a particular group's needs - just ask.

RichStitch: How I Got From There To Here (two different talks now available)

My textile career to date - the good, the bad and the ugly! I do not use slides but bring lots of my work and supporting props.

Please note:  As the years have passed my textile career has sprouted branches, wriggled off course and just generally splurged outwards; it has definitely outgrown a 60-minute account, so this talk now comes in two chapters, each of which occupies a 45- to 60-minute talk slot.  Please book either Part One or Part Two.

Books, Batting and Beeswax

Training to be a Quilt Judge: experiences from The Quilters' Guild two year course and subsequent judging at the Festival of Quilts and elsewhere.

Unaccustomed as I am....

A talk on giving talks - my experiences, good and not so, with a dollop of 'How-To' thrown in!

Conditional Discharge

Colour discharge using bleach or discharge paste, and further techniques with velvet.

I do not use slides but will bring many samples, all clearly labelled, together with examples of my own work, some of which is available for purchase.  The audience is welcome to take notes!

Felt Underneath

Updated feltmaking, and ways to use different types of felt as a basis for stitch. Again, no slides but many samples and some work.  The audience is welcome to take notes.

Bitesized!

Working small (and much less scary) - art quilts and embroidery on a friendly scale.
